Raghajazz Esplanade

Happy New Year 2016!

Happy New Year! I wanted to start the new year with my two favourite obsessions – travel and food. So the morning was spent making plans for a beach vacay to Phuket in March, heading off to Aleenta, can’t wait for powder-white sands and blue waters and vegging out for 5 days..nice!

And then it was off to get a dose of creative energy at The Esplanade – actually, it’s because I had booked dinner at Labyrinth, but always great to wander around and see what’s happening. And happy I am that we did. We saw a unique photography exhibition – Twentyfifteen.sg where 20 photographers in Singapore presented 15 of their photographs as a tribute to Singapore’s 50th birthday. The exhibition runs till 3 Jan 2016.

After which, another dose of creativity, this time in the form of chef LG Han, at Labyrinth. It was creative dining of the real kind – not just fancy molecular gastronomy pieces haphazardly thrown together just to show off, but stuff that really made sense and evoked emotion of some kind. Check out my review on Labyrinth.

And then, to cap the night off, we were treated to an amazing Indian classical + Jazz + Rock performance at the outdoor theatre at the Esplanade. Raghajazz showed off their unique blend of music and also succeeded in getting the crowd to sing along in a sea of hippie love and peace.

What a great start to the year, and this creative injection – this is what I want to sustain for the year ahead!

Happy New Year all!
